Cups song

Here you have the lyrics of the version of  "Cups song" we are going to sing:

I got my ticket for the long way round
I´m completely ready for the way
And I sure would like some sweet company
And I'm leaving tomorrow, what do you say

When I'm gone
When I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me by my hair
You're gonna miss me everywhere, oh
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone (x2)

I got my ticket for the long way round
The one with the prettiest of views
It's got mountains
It's got rivers
It's got sights to give you shivers
But it sure would be prettier with you

When I'm gone
When I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me by my walk
You're gonna miss me by my talk, oh
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone (x2)

And here you have the music to practice at home :)

Summer (A poem by Alejandra 6ºB)

The summer is very hot.
And you like playing non-stop.
You go to the beach or the pool.
Then you sunbathe, That's cool!

You swim happily in the water.
Later you eat an ice-cream.
You look up to the sky and think:
''I'm so happy that i want to scream!''

You go with your friends to the park.
And you sit under a tree.
You don't care about the time,
For two months you're free!

Finally back to Autumn.
You're sad and you think:
''This summer was awesome!''
''I only want to repeat.''

Summer (a poem by Carlos M. 6ºB)

In summer iI go to the beach
With my family and friends.
I always want the holidays
Not to end.

Summer is the season
Im mostly like.
I like going to the swimming pool
With my friend Mike.

The summer holidays
were bad because of the marks.
But they became better
Because of the marks.

When the summer ends
I have to go to school.
And I can't go again
To the swimming pool.

Summer (a poem by Miguel 6ºB)

Summer when we are all fine
And the sun always shine.
In summer we are very warm
Because the air is so hot.

In summer we arent at school
We are in the swiming pool.
We don´t study
And the day is so funny.

We sometimes go to other places
And we eat some icecreams.
If you stay at home
don´t worry this is a lot.

And when the end of the summer is near
All the children are sad
And to the school
they go back.

Summer (A poem by Alfredo 6ºA)

Summer is so nice,
You want flowers, more and more!
And you want air
As cold as ice.

In summer you don´t have to study,
It is time to have fun!
But don´t be so lazy
And go outside to run.

Now you can play games!
You can play a lot!
But prepare for PET or KET

School (a poem by Alba 6ºA)

I don´t like to study too much,
but i like to come to school,
because the teachers are nice,
and my classmates are fun too.

In the playground we play together,
everything is fun,
we sometimes play football,
and other we just run.

I don`t like the amount of homework we have,
but next year we go to highschool,
then we have to study,
for the next year to be ready.

In June we have a trip,
to leave a little bit the school,
we are going to be playing,
and it`t going to be cool.

Alba 6ºA

Summer (a poem by Lucía 6ºB)

Hot or cold, what could it be?
Summer is here,  just look and see.
It´s not winter or autumn here
Summer is something we shouldn´t fear.

Summer is here and it´s time to play.
Have fun because summer is not going to stay.
Jump in the pool and play all day.
Let´s come on out and head fot the bay.

Summer time is once a year.
Come on out without any fear.
Plant some flowers for summer day.
As long as summer is here to stay

Lucía 6ºB

Summer (A poem By Daniel G. 6ºB)

Summer is the best season
And I have a good reason.
On summer I can go to the pool,
And I dont have to go to school.

On summer I go to my village,
I have a lot of friends,
I play a lot with them.
I dont want that summer ends!

On summer I go to the beach
I like to play with the sand and water,
Its very late!It doesnt matter,
Its summer!

That´s why summer is the season I prefer,
because I can do
what I think
IT´S BEST!

DANIEL G. 6ºB

Summer (A poem by Nacho 6ºB)

Summer is the best season,
it makes me feel well.
Summer is the best season,
because I like playing as well.

Summer is the best season,it makes the birds sing.
Summer is the best season,
it makes the mice squik.

I like playing in summer,
because I like waterfalls.
I like playing in summer,
because it makes me feel hopeful.

The sun is impresive,
it is like an indian elephant.
The sun is impresive,
it is the size of Iceland.

How long does it take to go to Mars? Why do some planets have rings?

How long does it take to go to Mars ?

The total journey time from Earth to Mars takes between 150-300 days depending on the speed of the launch, the alignment of Earth and Mars, and the length of the journey the spacecraft takes to reach its target. It really just depends on how much fuel you’re willing to burn to get there. More fuel, shorter travel time.

Why do some planets have rings?

One theory is that the rings formed at the same time as the planet and its major moons. In this case, if material is close to the planet, the planet’s gravitational pull is too strong to coalesce into a moon and the particles that would otherwise form a moon spread out in orbit around the planet as a ring.

Another idea is that a close call by a moon or comet results in the planet's gravitational tidal force breaking up those bodies, the debris of which then becomes a ring system.

Although astronomers can't say for certain what causes planetary rings, Lattis says that the Cassini spacecraft now in orbit around Saturn is beginning to provide tantalizing new clues to the forces that govern the physics of planetary rings.

Some relaxation techniques

Some of you said that you get really nervous at exams. I decided to do some research to try to look for some relaxation techniques. I found some advice that can be useful for you.

Differential relaxation

  1. Sit up straight in your chair.
  2. Place both feet on the floor, making sure they are flat.
  3. Grasp the bottom sides of your chair with your hands.
  4. At the same time, use your hands to pull up on the chair and push your feet firmly down onto the floor.
  5. Hold this position while counting slowly to five (approximately five seconds).
  6. Release the tension in your hands and feet and let your body relax while counting slowly to five.
  7. Repeat the process several times before the test begins.

Deep breathing

  1. Inhale, taking a deep breath that fills your diaphragm as you push it down and outward. By moving your diaphragm your lungs can fully inflate.
  2. Hold your breath as you slowly count to three.
  3. Slowly release the air as you exhale.
  4. Focus on the feeling of your diaphragm moving back inward.
  5. Repeat the cycle five times.
  6. Repeat if needed.

Lyrics training

In this website you can practise English while you listen to your favourite songs. Choose the song you like, and get ready to enjoy your favourite music! But you need to write the lyrics correctly to be able to listen to the full song...Are you ready??? http://www.lyricstraining.com/
